Music - Community Chorus

The UMF Community Chorus brings together community members from throughout Western Maine with UMF students, faculty and staff to sing exciting music of the choral repertoire. Conducted alternate semesters by conductors Paul McGovern and Bruce McInnes, the chorus works on large major works such as the Mozart Requiem or Bernstein's Chichester Psalms, to folk songs, spirituals and jazz works and presents two programs each year. In some semesters, a smaller, auditioned group will form the UMF Chamber Choir to perform more intimate, a capella works on the same programs. To join the UMF Community Chorus, simply register for the course as you would any other class. No audition or permission is required. The Community Chorus rehearses Monday evenings.
